The Airdog X5 was designed, manufactured, and began serving customers worldwide in 2018. After years of operation and customer use, the Airdog team, incorporating customer feedback, has upgraded and updated the Airdog X1, X3, X5, and X8 models. The Airdog X5 has now been upgraded to the Airdog X5D.
Compared to the Airdog X5, the Airdog X5D has been upgraded and improved in the following aspects.
The X5D's belt has a more stylish and rounded appearance. The previous X5's digital display only showed the real-time AQI value, without a surrounding ring. The new X5D not only displays the AQI but also the current carbon dioxide value, and features a circular halo that changes color according to air quality, displaying three primary colors: red, orange, and green.
The new X5D logo has a silver-gray metal ring around it, while the X5 does not have this silver-gray metal ring.
The X5's control panel is a single button. Near the lower left corner of the button are four icons: Child Lock, Auto, Sleep Mode, and Fan Speed. These are used to control and select the corresponding mode by long-pressing or short-pressing the button. The X5D's control panel is a circular panel. The Child Lock, Auto, Sleep Mode, and Fan Speed icons are arranged at the four corners of this circular panel. Near the lower left corner of this panel is a small circular button, which is the AQI and CO2 switching button. A single press toggles the AQI and CO2 screen display.
The X5 had no bottom wheels. The new X5D has four removable omnidirectional wheels. There are also differences in the bottom grille and the bottom tilt sensor.
The X5's remote control is made of plastic and has a circular control panel with Wi-Fi and reset functions. The X5D's remote control is made of aluminum and has an AQI and CO2 switching button, with each function having its own dedicated button for easier operation.
The X5's sensor is not removable from the outside and only has a single opening for cleaning with a cotton swab. The X5D's sensor, however, has a cover that is easily removed, making internal cleaning much easier.
The direction of the holes and the length of the notches are slightly different. Of course, the appearance of the back cover and the surrounding area of the sensors on the X5 also matches that of the X5D in some batches of X5 products.
The maximum CADR value of X5 is 370 m3/h; the maximum CADR value of X5D is 380 m3/h.
The above are the main differences between X5D and X5. Of course, there are slight differences in terms of appearance and some accessories as well. The upgraded X5D, with its enhanced performance and stylish appearance, is highly favored by users.
